Posted September 05, 2018 04:18:28Amazon has announced it has paid $5 million for a massage therapist, with the compensation package covering compensation to employees and benefits.
The deal is subject to regulatory approval, which the company says could take anywhere from two to six months.
The massage therapist is being paid $3.2 million.
Amazon has previously paid employees who were compensated through a bonus, but the company said in January that it would no longer offer bonuses.
The company said it would stop paying employees who took leave to care for a family member, but that it was still offering benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) plans, and paid time off.
Amazon said in a statement that it has always had a policy of providing benefits to its employees in order to protect the health and safety of its associates and customers.
“Amazon does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status,” the company wrote.
Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos said in February that the company would no more pay bonuses for employees who went to care or volunteered for AmazonCare.
