Japants largest sex toys maker Harmony has announced it will close its San Antonio plant, which made the wand massagers used by millions of Japanese tourists.
Harmony also plans to close its Japanese massage shop, which specializes in massaging Asian women.
Harmony has been making massagers for nearly a century, and the company announced in September that it was closing its San Francisco and Tokyo facilities.
The San Antonio-based company made the vibrators and accessories in partnership with Japan’s Takara Group.
In recent years, the massager maker has expanded into massage equipment and home care products.
At the time of the announcement, Harmony said it would shutter the San Antonio facility and hire a new manufacturer to manufacture the massagers.
The company also said it was working to save money by hiring fewer workers and selling some products to Asian clients.
